Hotline for self-employed people
From mid-October, people who are self-employed and have no employees (ZZPers) can report their problems to the tax authorities via a hotline.
This hotline will be an online digital form on the website of the tax authorities.
Eric Wiebes
With this hotline, Secretary of State Eric Wiebes (finance), wants to gain a better insight into unforeseen and undesirable effects of the new “zelfstandigenwet”, so he announced this Wednesday. He promises to address any issues.
Unfairly treated
The new law should prevent self-employed individuals from being unfairly treated and stop the clients they work for from putting their backs against the wall. Clients and contractors can conclude an agreement if clarity is needed on their working relationship.
According to self-employed professionals this is exactly where the biggest problem lies: the agreements. Companies are afraid to give more assignments because the tax office does not accept some contracts.
The Dutch parliament will discuss these issues on Thursday evening.
